Mormon Observations on “The Book of Mormon” the Musical – Sal Tlay Ka Siti

All the posts in this series.

Go back to “Sal Tlay Ka Siti”.

Paradise
“It isn’t a place of fairy tales; it’s as real as it can be
A land where evil doesn’t exist – Sal Tlay Ka Siti”

Is Salt Lake City the promised land? The Mormon Mecca? An evil-free Garden of Eden? A modern day Zion?

Nope.

In contrast to the early days of the Church, members no longer seek to gather in one place, nor do members aim to get to Salt Lake City at least once during their lifetime. People born in the state are pretty comfortable there, true. Still, I was ready to move on once I graduated from BYU; my stint in Utah was enough, and now I’m off to “go forth and serve”.

But that’s beside the point. Much like the song “You and Me (But Mostly Me)“, there is not much in this song that needs responding to. Enjoy!
